The Big Black House
a poem written by Baiti Fauzi
In the cold morning wind
Where flocks of white birds came flying
Filling the air with their morning songs
I looked to my right, I looked to my left
I saw people rushing to the holy house of Allah
Ready to submit to the Almighty
Ready to worship Him
As I entered the House with my right foot
I couldn't believed what I see
People filling the ground
Different races, colours, and backgrounds
All united, circling the big beautiful black house of Allah
They seem connected with each other
By the Almighty
By the deen brought by His Prophet
Before I knew it, tears were falling down my cheeks
Like streaming river
My knees were shaking
I never felt so small
I never felt so wrong
Never I thought I would be here so early
It is a dream come true
As my forehead touched the cold white marble
Ultimately submit myself to the Almighty
All my life came flashing back at me
All the sins that I did
I asked for His forgiveness
All the goods that I did
I asked for His blessings
As I circled the great house
Built by Ibrahim pbuh
Praising the Almighty for the blessings He gave me
My family
My friends
My health
My life
And the blessings of this deen
I felt a great and a special connection to my God
As did my heart
As did my soul
The very last day
Was the toughest day
I circled the house for the last time with a sinking heart
Never thought I'd be leaving so soon
Felt like time was being cruel
The rain started pouring
As if they were mourning
Tears and raindrops running down my face
My heart was pounding so hard
I could barely breathed
I waved salaam to the Holy Mosque
Slowly I turned my back
Where the bus awaits for me to leave the city
I prayed with all my hearts
To be given an endless chance to be there again
Allah knows how much I miss these moments.
Wonderful dear..Abah recollect the same memory and always dream to be there again and again and again.
ReplyDeleteMake du'a for me to be given a chance to visit there again, abah! :)
