My name is Wan Nur Baiti bt W. Mohd Fauzi and apparently I am the owner of this humble blog =P 'Baiti' derived from an Arabic word which means 'my house' but I believe the true meaning of my name is 'the guardian' or 'the protector' because it makes more sense than the actual meaning.
I was born in 1995 and throughout my life that I'm currently living, I can say that I am an introvert. It's a good thing to be one but sometimes it's just pretty depressing because I missed out a lot of fun stuff and opportunities. So now I'm trying to escape from my own shell and explore this life a bit.
I'm currently taking A-Level Architecture in MKIC for 2 years. And if God willing, I will be studying abroad to further my dream in Architecture somewhere in the UK.
I don't know what else to say here, so I guess this is a wrap. Ciao!
Assalamualaikum kak baiti.
ReplyDeleteAlhamdulillah, saya dapat peluang utk sambung study senibina dekat MKIC dengan UITM which i think both have their own pro and cons.
If I not mistaken, you too did get both, right?
But then, you decided to go for the PILN.
Most of people-- family and teachers strongly recommend me to go with the PILN, of course, since it has more opportunities and advantages.
Tapi, saya rasa macam sayang nak lepaskan tawaran UITM tu sebab direct degree , and yep, ((at the same time)) sayang jugak untuk let go buat A-level MARA.
So if possible ((before 29 May 2014)), I would love to hear your opinion on which should i choose.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Waalaikumussalam! ;)
DeleteFirst off, congrats on getting both offers. I've to admit that I was also having a hard time deciding with offer to choose.
Ok, now back to the issue here. You should keep in mind that the decision that I've made was based entirely on my own personal interest and need so this may not relate to you. The real reason why I accepted MARA instead of UITM's direct degree is because I've always wanted to go to the UK and MARA's offer is the only ticket for me to make it a reality. Besides, during my year, it was the first time MARA offer to do A-Level Architecture (sbb selama ni x silap akak, MARA just offer IB Architecture) and since I love arts, architecture seems like the only professional course that involve arts and designing.
Yes, you are right. If you accept MARA offer, more advantages and wider opportunities are waiting ahead of you. You'll gain a lifetime experience you wouldnt get anywhere else. Plus, most architecture firms in Malaysia usually prefer an oversea graduate because of the experiences you had and the environment you are exposed to (but that depends on rezeki jgak ^^). The only cons that I see in this MARA offer is during the A-Level. If you passed your A-Level with flying colours, then the flight to UK awaits you. But if you failed, you have wasted 2 years doing A-Level for nothing and you need to continue your study in Malaysia and MARA wouldnt help you search for one. So. the bottom line here is, if you choose MARA offer, you really need to struggle your butt off because it ain't easy. You'll be suprised that studying for many SPM subjects is more manageable and easier than studying for 3 A Level subjects. I'm not trying to scare you but that's the truth, because you are going to UK universities so it is no small matter.
UiTM in the other hand will save you a lot of time since it offers direct degree. But that's it. You wouldn't get much experiences like PILN.
So, I guess that's it. Hope this helps :) Buat la solat istikharah banyak2, biar hati tu tetap nak buat decision yang tepat.

I did survey the webpage, but dont know which one is child-friendly(for my uncle's kids).
DeleteOh well, do you have the homestay's webpage url or contact num?
Oh, okay. I dont have balora homestay's contact. Have you tried calling other homestays on the website? There's a hotel at Paka called The Qamar btw. But it is about half hour drive from college.
