Salam 'Alaik!
I was googling some recipes on the Internet, and I stumbled across a Mexican treat called Buñuelos. Buñuelos or Mexican fritters are basically fried dough, and they taste really good. The texture of Buñuelos is kinda like scones and they actually even taste like scones, in my opinion. But we deep fried them instead of baking. Deep-fried scones. I guess. Okay.
So, you may have some hard time pronouncing Buñuelos, but they are incredibly easy to make. Macam buat cekodok la kot. But easier. These Mexican delicacy is suitable for breakfast, supper, tea time, basically every time of the day.
INGREDIENTS (24 servings):
4 cups of flour
1 tspn of baking powder
1 tspn of salt
1/2 cup of caster sugar
1/2 tspn of cinnamon
2 eggs
1 cup of milk
4 tbsp of butter (melted)
Cinnamon-sugar mixture
DIRECTIONS:
- In large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cinnamon. In smaller bowl, beat eggs and milk. Add this gradually, beating, to flour mixture.
- Add the melted butter, beat.
- Place dough on floured surface and knead til silky and elastic.
- Roll into balls or ropes, and flatten with the palm of your hand.
- Deep fry in hot oil, til golden.
- Drain on paper towel before rolling them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
It should look like this:
But mine turned out like this:
I could only managed to save three bunuelos from my family for photographing.
If you're not a fan of cinnamon, you could replace it with strawberry jam or chocolate sauce or whatever you love to have them with.
Enjoy your bunuelos, folks!

Comel gila Baiti punya hahahahaha
