Baiti Fauzi: DIY Vintage Button Badge

Do you have button badges that are old ,ugly and no longer usable? Well, if you are thinking to throw them away, NO, don't throw them away! Because I've came up with a glorious idea of how to give the unattractive looking button badge an extreme makeover to make your friends jealous and dying to have them! Just follow the steps below, and voila! you own yourself The Vintage Button Badge!

MATERIALS NEEDED:

Some unused, old button badges that you wish to get rid of.

Fancy and attractive looking fabric tapes. Bought these at Pustaka Rakyat at a reasonable price.

Lacy and stripy fabric tapes. Bought these amazing guys at Daiso Japan.

Some washi tapes. Bought these at Daiso Japan too.

THE MAKING:

Step 1:

Using a knife, take off the back part of the button where the pin lies. Be careful, kids.

And you'll have two separate parts of the button. The one that you are going to decorate is the ones with no pin attached. (Duh, obviously)

Step 2:

Pick the tapes that you wish to use in your design, measure them on the button badge and then cut them.

Peel of the sticky part of the tape and just stick it on the button. Make sure there's no bubble trap or anything like that.

Oh, and make sure that when you measure the tape, it has to be longer than the actual size because you need the extra part to cover the edge of the button badge so it will look nice and secure.

Step 3:

After you are happy with your design and stuff, secure the back part of the button tightly. Press it hard until it is secured.

And voila! You're finished!

Step 4:

Clean your desk!

So that's it! You're done! And you're happy :)

If you're feelin' fancy you can use fabric cloth and cut out your own pattern/shape/design/etc to stick on your button. Let your mind flows with creativity!
