Diary Trip : Bandung ( Pt 1 )

This is the the bits and pieces of notes/journal that I've written during my trip to Bandung:

10th June

At 7.45pm, we boarded the plane and headed to Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung and arrived 2 hours later.

The time here is one hour early. Cool.

The airport is super small for an international airport. We had to start queuing for immigration before we even entered the airport because there isn't enough space.

After we have cleared with immigration and our luggage, we met our 'supir' or driver who was waiting for us in the airport to pick us up. His name is Era (I think) and he seems like a decent guy. He's going to drive us around during our entire trip here.

The temperature tonight is 22 C!

Bandung is pretty nice at night. It's beyond my expectation. But I can't say much, it's night and dark. I guessed I have to wait tomorrow and see if it meets my expectation.

Since we haven't had proper dinner, we headed down to a restaurant called Nasi Belacan. I ordered Avocado Cendol which taste super refreshing. The avocado pieces were perfectly balanced by the creamy cendol. We also ordered regular iced tea and it turned out regular tea here is jasmine tea. Also, super good. I think I'm going to love Bandung.

We headed to our hotel,Jayakarta Hotel Suite & Spa. So tropical-ish. Love it. And the pool is nice and big.

11th June

Had our first breakfast in Bandung at the hotel. The hotel is so beautifully decorated with trees and flowers - it's indescribable. Almost heaven. And the weather is super nice and comfy. I'm guessing it's around 21 C. Had fried noodles and it tasted normal I guess. Nothing weird to my tongue so I guess I'm going to be fine eating here.

We head down to our first destination, Tangkuban Parahu (Had no idea what it is at first because I forgot to do a quick research on places of interest in Bandung before we take off). We had to pay Rp.200 000 (RM 60, if I'm not mistaken) per person which is quite expensive. But for the local, it's only Rp. 20 000 ( RM 6.00 ).

As we entered the area, the smell of sulphur came knocking. FYI, not a pleasant smell but still bearable.

So, it turns out that Tangkuban Parahu is a natural park famous for its active volcanoes. Yes, ACTIVE.  We had to do a little bit of hiking and stuff to see the crater from the edge. It was a breathtaking view, I tell you. And it is cold up there and I've been told that at night the temperature could reach 2 C!

The White Crate; one of the crates in Tangkuban Parahu.

No, my brother is not that tall at all.

Throughout our adventure in Tangkuban Parahu we were suddenly followed by 5 local people admitting that they are the tour guide. So, we just went along with them. Recklessly.

Our 5 loyal tour guides.

We were stopped by a man selling berries. He gave us some berries to try and they were super sweet. Out of pity, my mom decided to buy a bunch of them for quite a high price.

A few minutes later, our sightseeing in Tangkuban ended. Suddenly, the 5 tour guides brought out some stuff from their bags and pockets. Keychains, fridge magnets, bags, etc and shoved them in our faces and literally forcing and begging us to buy. At this moment, we knew we were trapped. Miserable and surrounded by items, we quickly walked to our ride and told our supir to leave the place.

Our next stop was Kopi Luwak Cikole. I got to meet the little guys who produced the most expensive coffee ( and poop ) in the world! The staff there gave a detailed and clear information about the coffee since there are so many misunderstandings regarding the halal status.

Baby Luwak so kawaii.

The most expensive poop.

RM 15 for a small cup.

We headed to Floating Market in Lembang which I think is like a family park. They have outdoor activities and stuff and most importantly they have boats that sell food; thus, its name, Floating Market. The whole park is beautiful and stunning.

Personal favorite;Ketan Bakar.

The Floating Market.

I got to try variety of local delicacies which all taste incredibly amazing, particularly, Ketan Bakar which my mom thought they spelled it wrong for Ketam on the menu board. The only activity we did at the market was just snacking food.

We didn't have proper lunch at the Floating Market, therefore, we went to our next destination; Restoran Kg.Daun which is probably the most green, natural, relaxing, exotic and captivating restaurant I've ever been to. The restaurant has stunning panoramic views of the jungles and the surrounding breathtaking scenery. Our table/hut is right next to a streaming water. SO CALM. I could sit there all day and eat.

TO BE CONTINUEEEEEEEE...
